Consentics and Google: what works today, what doesn't yet

A plain answer to the question we get most: does Consentics work with Google's tools, and is it Google-certified?

What works today

Google Consent Mode v2. Consentics signals visitor consent decisions in the shape Google's tools expect, so Google Analytics, Google Ads and other Google tags on your site can adjust their own behaviour based on what a visitor actually agreed to, rather than firing blind or not firing at all.

Google Analytics 4. Consentics runs alongside GA4 without conflict. Where a visitor declines consent, GA4 will respect that decision through Consent Mode v2 the same way it would with any Consent Mode-compatible tool.

Google Ads conversion tracking. Conversion tracking that relies on Consent Mode v2 signals works with Consentics installed.

A Google Tag Manager template. (In progress.) A dedicated Consentics template for the GTM Community Template Gallery is in development, so GTM users will be able to add Consentics the same way they already add other consent tools, rather than hand-pasting the script tag.

What we don't support yet

Google Certified CMP status for AdSense, Ad Manager and AdMob. If you serve personalised ads to visitors in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland through Google AdSense, Ad Manager or AdMob, Google requires you to use a consent management platform it has certified against its own criteria, and that certified CMP must integrate with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF). Consentics is not currently a Google Certified CMP, and does not currently support IAB TCF.

If your site's Google revenue depends on serving personalised ads to EEA, UK or Swiss visitors through one of those three products, Consentics does not yet meet that specific Google requirement. Everything else on this page, Consent Mode v2, GA4, Google Ads conversion tracking, works regardless.

We're not going to imply otherwise: this is the one gap we're direct about, because getting it wrong would leave your ad account exposed, not just your marketing copy.

Building this next

IAB TCF support and Google Certified CMP status are on our roadmap, gated on real demand rather than built speculatively. If this is blocking you, tell us: it's the fastest way to move it up the list.

If this gap is blocking you, contact us and say so: tell us your domain, which Google product you're using, and roughly how much monthly traffic you're serving ads to. We'll let you know when certified support ships, and reaching out now directly shapes when that is.
