Kajabi splits header scripts into two separate places: one for your main site, and a second one specifically for checkout pages. Consentics needs pasting into both, or visitors on your checkout flow won't see the banner.
Install Consentics on Kajabi
Before you start
You'll need admin access to your Kajabi site's Settings.
Steps
Part 1: your main site
- Go to your Consentics install page (Account, Properties, your site, Install) and copy your snippet. See the install basics for why you should copy it from there rather than reusing an example.
- In Kajabi, go to Settings, Site details.
- Find the Header Page Scripts field and paste your Consentics snippet.
- Save your changes.
Part 2: your checkout pages (a second, required paste)
This part is easy to miss, and it's the one caveat specific to Kajabi: Header Page Scripts is excluded from Checkout Pages by design. If you stop after Part 1, every page on your site will show the Consentics banner except the page where a purchase actually happens.
- Go to Settings, Payment settings, Checkout.
- Find the Checkout Tracking Code section.
- Paste the same Consentics snippet into the Header tracking code field.
- Save your changes.
Then, on both
- Publish or republish any pages Kajabi flags as needing it.
- Go back to your Consentics install page and check the waiting-for-first-event status. It turns green once Consentics receives your first page view, ideally confirmed from both a normal page and a checkout page.
Caveat: checkout tracking can be switched off per offer
Kajabi lets you disable header and footer tracking code for an individual offer, independently of the site-wide Checkout Tracking Code setting. If a specific offer's checkout page isn't showing the Consentics banner, check that offer's own settings: Edit Checkout, Checkout section, and confirm "Include header tracking code" is switched on for that offer.
FAQ
Why does Kajabi treat checkout differently from the rest of the site? Kajabi runs its checkout on protected page templates and deliberately keeps them separate from your general Header Page Scripts, so a broken or slow script on your marketing pages can't affect the checkout flow. That's a sensible default for Kajabi, but it does mean consent tools, including Consentics, need the second paste to reach every page.
Do I use the Header or Footer tracking code field for checkout? Header. The Consentics snippet is written to load early, and Kajabi's Footer tracking code field runs later in the page, after Kajabi's own scripts.
I have several offers. Do I need to repeat the checkout paste per offer? No, the Checkout Tracking Code setting in Payment settings applies to all checkout pages by default. You only need to visit an individual offer's settings if you want to switch tracking off for that one offer specifically.
